time almost half the number of available craftsmen are working in the Film and Television industries.
HERITAGE & RESTORATION
This course concentrates on the techniques and methods used in the upkeep of our historical and traditional buildings.
- Use and mixing of Heritage materials
- Taking squeezes of existing sections and enrichments
- Creating new moulds and laying in enrichment
- Correct method of pouring rubber moulds
- Casting and fixing new section to match existing work
- Fixing of laths to timber stud work. Applie lime putty mixes and reinstate into existing
- Modelling enrichment in situ
- Casting from moulds using other materials
This is a lucrative and ongoing area of our trade and students will benefit from the demand for skilled partisans in this sector.
